Students of the College got into the spirit of Book Week through a number of challenges and activities during Week 6.
Book Week, which had the theme 鈥楻ead, Grow, Inspire,鈥 included PC challenges each day, activities in the Learning Commons, and the hotly-contested Dress-Up Day on Friday 25 August.
In the PC challenges, the winning classes were 8F2, 9A2 and 10A1, which was the top-performing PC group of the week, gaining 100% on multiple challenges.
With dress-ups on the Friday, there was a sense of festivity in the air for the entire day. On the St Peter91大神 Campus this included a BBQ during lunchtime, with proceeds going towards a book donation to MacKillop House.
The staff dress-up prize was hotly contested, with 294 students and staff voting for the best dressed. Congratulations to the Science Faculty who took out the top place for the St Peter91大神 Campus for their detailed version of The Magic School Bus, and the Learning Commons team on the Padua Campus, who dressed as Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach.
The best dressed student prize went to Ava and Mary for their costumes inspired by the novel 鈥淕ood Omens鈥 written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, with a runner-up prize awarded to Cameron for his detailed handmade costume of an Inferni from the 鈥淪hadow and Bone鈥 series by Leigh Bardugo. On the Padua campus, best dressed prizes went to Stella, as The Joker, Hayley, as Cruella de Vil, and Lachlan who was a very dedicated Avenger91大神 Apprentice.
Thank you and congratulations to everyone who got involved with the celebrations during the week. Overall, it was a great celebration of the power of reading, and we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2024!

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: 鈥淲e are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.鈥
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
